Objective : | To give an introduction to the use of the object oriented programming language JAVA. After a quick introduction to the basic elements in JAVA there will be time to get a routine in JAVA programming including development of GUI using visual JAVA tools. | ||
Principal Content : | Basic programming principles in JAVA
The object oriented paradigm in JAVA GUI (AWT and Swing) for development of applications and aplets mainly by using Jbuilder JAVA in relation with networks. Application level and protocol design by using TCP/IP. Introduction to threads. JAVA in relation to Databases. |

Teaching method : | Exercises and class room teaching. The exercises is 70% of the course and consists of working with computers. Two or more assignments are to be handed in. The last is a larger assignment. This will contain elements like using JAVA in connection with client/server programming or in connection with SQL. | ||
