Objective : | To introduce the students to Delphi Windows programming. To enable the students to create robust drivers for Win2K/NT. To familiarize the students with the design of high speed digital electronic. |

Principal Content : | Introduction to the Delphi programming environment. Introduction to drivers running under Win2K/NT. Introduction to Windows NT operation system. High speed digital design, including: Transmission lines, Clock Skew, measuring techniques, terminating digital circuits, metastability, practical considerations when designing digital circuits and similar. |

Teaching method : | 12 Lectures given by the lecturer, 1 presentation given by each group member and a course group project. Each group has to define, design and implement a project involving Windows programming and hardware design. Approximately 2/3 the lessons will be used for the group project. Approximately 1/3 the lessons will be used for lectures and presentations. The individual presentations by the students must attain a satisfactory academic level for them to be eligible for the examination. The teacher alone will assess the quality. The group should be formed by at least 2 students and at the maximum of 4 students. |

Remarks : | Oral exam, in which the course group project is the starting point. Each student in the group will receive a question on the course group project in advance, and must give a ten-minute presentation. One question of known questions inside the course topics will be drawn by each student. The project and project presentation will count for 70% of the mark. The examination will be in groups. It is possible to do pre-final projects. |
