Objective : To provide the student with knowledge on processes in production and product development in relation to environment and occupational health and safety. To enable the student to consider legislation demands on environment and occupationel health and safety in relation to selection of materials and choice of manufacturing processes. To provide the students with knowledge on tools for environmental assesment of materials and manufacturing processes. To create an understanding of the interaction between an environmental management system and the planning of manufacturing and product development processes.
Principal Content : The content of the course is an introduction to environmental management of manufacturing processes and materials. Discussion of conditions of the environment, society"s focus on environment, international status in life cycle assesment of products, environmental and occupational health and safety legislation; general chemistry, the working place, materials, noise, physiology and ergonomics, processes and products.
Teaching method : Lectures, group work and preparation of project.

Remarks : Oral presentation and examination of a project counting 50 % and examination in the theory counting 50 %. Common course for M & P.
