Objective : To give the students the basic knowledge in mechanics of structural members, methods for determination of load and safety, elasticity and strength making the student qualified in simple technical calculations and to determine internal forces in beams and rod systems. Moreover to qualify the student in dimensioning simple structural members in wood, steel and reinforced concrete.
Principal Content : Calculate reactions and internal forces in statically determinate structures of beams, frame structures and lattice girders.

Tension rods in timber and in steel
Solid beams (timber and steel)
Reinforced concrete beams, bending and shear
(without axial forces, Method A)
Teaching method : Lectures, theory and methodology, experiments, assignments and homework
Recommended prerequisites : Enrolled in TEM-B1 and TEM-G
