Objective : Practice Project 1 is a practice activity which gives groups of students a possiblity to carry out a project work. In combination with the other elements in the education the project work contributes to that the student develops professional engineering qualifications as described in accordance with Order no. 319 concerning Engineering courses.
Principal Content : The Practice Project 1 will be based on project ideas from external sources. The main content in the project must be arranged so the Practice Project fulfills the objective.
Teaching method : The practice Project is based on group work or can be done in a company by a single student. A teacher will be assigned as supervisor for the group. The group will have 1 hour of consultation with the supervisor per week.
If the practice project is done in a company which provides a supervisor a teacher will be assigned as contact person.

Relations : The Practice Project can be connected to an optional study module, which the students in the group attend in the same semester. PRA1 is followed by PRA2 and PRA3, so the whole practice course is 30 ECTS credits. It is recommended that PRA1 and PRA2 are taken together at 6th semester and that PRA3 is taken in connection with the final project.

Remarks : The supervisor performs the evaluation of PRA1. The approval of the Practice Project depends on whether the student has delivered the required workload in the project work. Especially it is compulsory for the student to attend the weekly meeting with the supervisor. The specification of the project must be available and approved by the end of the third week of the semester.
Is is recommended that PRA1 and PRA2 is taken together on 6th semester and that PRA3 is taken in connection with the final project.
