Objective : To give students an opportunity - with guidance - to show their ability to use their knowledge and academic skills on a typical engineering problem within the fields of electronic, telecommunication, software and systems development.
Principal Content : Is determined by the specific project.
Teaching method : The bachelor project is decided according to the following procedures:
The student register for the bachelor project before the 15th March/15th October. The student will have a "co-ordinator" assigned who informs the student in how to find a relevant project place and project.
The project place could be a firm, an institution, or in special cases IHK.
Each project must have a responsible supervisor.
The supervisor must be an experienced engineer employed at the project place. In special cases a lecturer at IHK may serve as supervisor.

As a condition for beginning the project, the project must be approved by the "co-ordinator" and the supervisor in respect of: Time requirement, level of difficulty, possibilities of evaluation.
Required prequisites : The student has to be positively sure to be able to complete the study program when the bachelor project is submitted. Therefore, to complete the bachelor project, it is required that:
- The student has passed all compulsory courses.
- The student has completed 180 credits of the courses.

Type of examination : Oral examination based on a project

Marking : 7 step scale
Remarks : The evaluation is based on the project progress, a written project report, a presentation of the project and a discussion between the student, the supervisor, the coordinator and the external examiner.
For the presentation and the discussion at least one hour is set aside. In case of a project with more than one student, an extra half hour is set aside for each extra student.

A student who do the bachelor project at a university in a foreign country, and in connection with this are evaluated at the university concerned, must after return also participate in a special project discussion at IHK. At this special project discussion the foreign grade will be translated into the 13-scale.

Cancellation within ten weeks prior to the hand in date will be considered an examination attempt.
