Objective : To develop students" knowledge of the basic theoretical principles and models with emphasis on providing tools and a framework for product development and design.
Practical
Principal Content : Product development and design as variable integrated product development The phases of product development. Information searches. Documentation. Techniques for optimizing the product.
Main Contents:
The Concept of Concurrent Engineering, Product Specification, Identifying Customer Need, EU directives, Standards, Patents, Product Variety, Modularity, Assembly, Field research, Competitor analysis, Scandinavia Design, Concept Génération, Creativity, Concept Selection and test.
Introduction to the group project, How to report the project.
Teaching method : Lectures, discussions, group work, cases, written assignments and field research.
Required prequisites : Two years of university studies completed.
