Objective : The student must gain knowledge and understanding of the special challenges and methods related to roads and road construction in developing countries
The student must gain skills in programming, projecting and construction of roads in developing countries
Principal Content : Overview of course subjects, within which the student can define and plan the course work and projects
Mandatory:
- Roads and development aid
- Geometrical design
- Drainage
- Preliminary studies
- Traffic safety
- Tropical soils
- Road cover
- HDM-modellen
- Human ressource demanding methods
- Inspection
- Maintenance
- Training and human ressource development

Aprroximately 12 course works /assignments are to be handed in.

Framework for project:
Project assignment relating to 2 – 3 of the subjects mentioned and to be agreed with the professors.
Teaching method : Presentations and assignments, leading to the course project
Students presentations and discussions.
Self tuition
External professionals.
Course Projects are carried out in groups of 2 - 4 students.
Decision on the course project is decided upo by the professors after proposal from the students
Required prequisites : The student must have passed all Theme Courses
Type of examination : Oral examination based on assignments
External examiner : External
Marking : 7 step scale
Remarks : The assessment is based on the course project carried out during the course, and a presentation and discussion about the project, related to the professional subjects of the course
