| Målsætning : | The course is designed to improve the students’ oral communications skills and vocabulary. Aims: The students must be able to: - make a professional presentation - express themselves in grammatically and idiomatically correct English. |

| Hovedindhold : | The focus of the course will be on enhancing the students’ oral communication skills through emphasis on pronunciation, vocabulary and on how to make a professional presentation. The course also focuses on improving the students’ written abilities. Special attention will be given to activities which strengthen such skills. In order to consolidate class activities, some homework may be required. The students will be required to give a talk on a chosen subject to the class in order to train their ability to express themselves clearly and precisely in a communication situation involving active listeners. This also serves to prepare the students for delivery of the oral presentation of their project at the end of the semester. While the emphasis is placed on oral communication, special needs or problems relating to thesis writing may be taken up, subject to consensus in class. |

| Bemærkninger : | Oral exam. (4 students per hour). The examination will be divided into two parts: Each student must: 1) give a presentation of a subject of their own choice and 2) be able to summarize and discuss a known text (i.e. one of the texts we have been working on in class during the semester). 11 sessions in total. 80% attendance is required to be able to sit the examination. |
