Målsætning : Through instruction and workshop training, the students will be able to:
• Characterize manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, grinding and drilling on the basis of practical exercises.
• Explain the principles and use of these processes, and use them in a workshop environment.
• Explain and use a number of measuring methods and instruments for the determination of length, roughness and angles.
• Acquire knowledge in using tolerances.
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
• Obtain practical knowledge about important manufacturing processes
• Be introduced to the use of technical drawings as a means of communication in the industry
• Achieve a practical insight into geometries that various processes can be used to make
• Have an introduction to fundamental measuring methods that are commonly used in production technology.
• Acquire knowledge of the factors that determine geometric tolerances and surface quality
Hovedindhold : Instructed practical workshop training including operation of machine tools in relation to turning, milling, grinding, drilling and filing etc. In addition, measuring instruments will be used.
Undervisningsform : -Instruction and supervision.

The course is given in a schedule free afternoon in the 1st semester. It is primarily for students enrolled in the program “Engineering Design & Industrial Innovation”, offered by the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
