| Hovedindhold : | Statics. Introduction to elasticity. Determinate and indeterminate trusses. Stress-strain curves. Transformation of stresses and strains. Axial, torsion and flexural loadings. Pressure vessels. Shear and bending moment diagrams. Stresses in beams and beam deflections. Design of columns structures against buckling. Energy methods. Experimental strain analysis. Introduction to Finite Element Methods (FEM). The software “Cambridge Engineering Selector” (CES) is used for interactive material selection in structural design. | ||
| Undervisningsform : | The teaching is based on “learning by doing”. There will be introductory and summing up lectures. Project work in small groups includes tutorial exercises, computer simulations and case studies | ||
