Objective : The students are to describe and present a concrete production company, selected areas of its logistical system and possible tasks for production engineers.

The students are to describe and calculate the production of small series of a concrete product (from the workshop course) using unit and operation lists as well as cost calculations. The students also need to understand and analyse technical illustrations.

The students are to use basic IT programs and information research. They are to present the project in a technical report format using technical terms.

The students are to describe the benefits and drawbacks of working in groups and define the roles in the project group work as well as analyse the communication and the cooperation.
Principal Content : Project theme courses: describe a production company, it logistical system and the tasks of production engineers.
Technical illustrations and tolerances, production technology, unit lists and process overviews, the IT programs Excel and PowerPoint and information research.
Project completion competencies.
Teaching method : The project is carried out in groups of three to four. Each group is assigned a supervisor, and the groups may draw on academic supervisors from the semester courses. The theme courses are organized as class teaching, group teaching or workshops depending as the case may be.

Recommended prerequisites : All courses at 1 semester are followed.

Marking : 7 step scale
Remarks : The evaluation takes place during the project as described in the project proposal for instance using review of group members and assessment by supervisors. The project is assessed by the teacher and internal examiner and feedback is given.
