Course code : SDYNAM-U
ECTS Credits : 5 Status : Compulsory
Revised : 08/02 2007 Written : 08/02 2007
Placement : 1. semester Hours per week : 4
Length : 1 semester Teaching Language : Danish

Objective : To give the student a basic understanding of Newtonian mechanics, that is to say the coherence of forces and motion of rigid bodies, together with the need for application of dynamics in design and a construction where resultant forces are significant. To make the student capable to estimate an calculate the motion of rigid bodies under the influence of external forces.
Principal Content : Plane kinematics and kinetics for particles, rigid bodies an connected rigid bodies in rectangular coordinates and in normal- and tangential coordinates. Translation, rotation an general plane motion. Work-energy relation, impulse, linear and angular momentum for particles and work-energy relation for rigid bodies.
Teaching method : Teaching and discussion of the theory and physical concepts. Problem anlysis and solving.
