Objective : To give the student insight and understanding for control engineering and automation so that the student will be able to project, dimensioning and make controlsolutions for plants and machines of different kinds.
Principal Content : On-off control: - Boolean algebra - Relaitechnique, ladderdiagrams og logicdiagrams - PLC - Sequential control, set-reset - Phasediagrams - Timers and counters On-off control Control engineering: - Terminology - PID-control - Signals and datatransmission - Digital control - Controller setting methods - Measuring equipment and transmitters - Controlvalves - Speed drives and pumps - Examples of process control - PI-diagrams.
Teaching method : Classroom teaching, problem solving lab.work.

Remarks : 2½ hours written examination.
Exercises must be passed before the examination. Common course for M, P and EP.
