Objective : | This course unit contains theory and practice about construction of a logical and physical data model based on simple systems. Implementing the systems with support from database tools and generating input/output data. The student should be able to: 1. Use database tools. 2. Design databases with entity sets and relationship types together with ER-diagrams. Understand normalization algorithm dependencies, consistency preservation and the conception of primary/foreign keys. 3. Use the SQL standard for creating and manipulating schemas. 4. Use and define Database Application Programs with JDBC. 5. Use Basic Transaction Processing. 6. Use Web applications in connection with databases. 12 This grade is given for the excellent performance. The student has accomplished all the learning objectives with no or only a few unimportant shortcomings. 7 This grade is given for the good performance. The student has accomplished the learning objectives from 1 to 5 with some shortcomings. 02 This grade is for the acceptable performance where the student has accomplished the learning goals from 1 to 3 with just acceptable degree. The evaluation of the level of accomplishment of the learning goals is based on a professional judgement by the teacher and the examiner. |

Principal Content : | The curriculum of the course unit will be introduced by the teacher and supplied with exercises and course assignments. The final course assignment must be documented in a report that will be used for the oral examination. |
