| Hovedindhold : | Classification and properties of fluids. Fluid statics. Introduction to the basic principles for conservation of mass, momentum and energy for fluid mechanical systems. Conservation equations in control volume form. Inviscid flows: Bernoulli"s equation. Static, dynamic and total pressure. Dimensional analysis, modeling and similarity. Introduction to measurement techniques in fluid mechanics. Head loss in pipes and pipe systems. Drag and lift. Turbomachinery. Introduction to CFD using FLUENT and/or COMSOL’s Multiphysics. | ||
| Undervisningsform : | The teaching is based on "learning by doing". There will be introductory and summing up lectures. Project work in small groups includes tutorial exercises, assignments, workshop and lab exercises, computer simulations, use of internet search engines and case studies. | ||
