Objective : | To acquire skills in concept development and both technical and industrial design, where the quality of the project work is the main issue. | ||
Principal Content : | A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to: • Use the basic steps of the product development process in a proper manner. • Be innovative in developing concepts for the industrial design process. • Describe a technical problem properly. • Perform a thorough product analyse. • Select the optimal materials, using the CES EduPack Materials and Processes selection software. • Carry out the necessary strength of materials calculations for the main parts of the product. • Use COMSOL’s Structural Mechanics Module software to validate the technical aspect of the product. • Use a 3-D CAD program for technical drawings, including assembly drawings. • Evaluate the safety of the product according to known standards. Problem solving, concept development, function description, brainstorming, drawings, strength and safety calculations for the mechanical parts. |
