Objective : | The student needs to acquire skills in project methodology with emphasis on the initial phases. The project work should aim to provide the basis for a following final project and must therefore include feasibility studies, programming and preparation of proposals. At the final examination, a student, who has fully fulfilled the aim of the course will be able to: - Perform a report setting out the final project requirements and program - Reflect on and assess the final project requirements and program - Develop, analyze and justify the choice of solutions - Explain the documentation of the Program Project - Explain the planning and implementation of the work in connection with the Program Project - Explain the group"s collaboration internally and with external partners |

Principal Content : | 1. Initiative Phase Selection of project area within the Building and Civil Engineering field/Construction works: Building sector: building techniques, structures, or installations or Civil Engineering sector: planning, road and traffic engineering, civil works, water and environment. Project idea submitted. Task"s purpose and scope are described. 2. Program Presentation Based on an actual project the program presentation must include: * Client"s needs and what functions the construction works must comply * Project organization * Requirements to location * Timeframe and economy * Quality requirements related to form and function and to technique and environment. * list of contact persons 3. Program for construction works From assessment of needs and from analysis of functions the program is reviewed and the following should be prepared: * Plan for function * Plan for techniques * Environmental Program and Environmental Plan. A revised Program should be submitted 4. Solutions The presented proposals are reviewed related to revised program. Revised solutions are developed and should be motivated related to requirements of quality and economy. The Program Project’s scientific and theoretical basis are analyzed and reported |

Teaching method : | Project work is done individually or in groups, adapted to the size of the project. Team size of 2-3 persons is recommended. The delivered report explains the results, meaning that a motivated proposal for the task solution is generated from the prepared program. The report is directed the target group for the selected project. Also an overall project report including the summarizing task basis, projecting flow, prerequisite requirements and data in general. The documentation is directed internal use in the project group The Program Project is presented. |

Required prequisites : | Passed IPR, BYG-PR og ANL-PR Before beginning the final project, all compulsory courses must be passed. |

Remarks : | Project work and a dialogue. The handling of the project work in relation to the course description’s main four elements is assessed individually and depending on the nature and the extent of tasks and related to the course objectives. Also the systematic of the task and the communication is assessed. | ||
