Objective : To understand the applications of modern materials and manufacturing processes in order to determine the most suitable combinations for given products.
Principal Content : Materials classification and processing, consideration of product design requirements, manufacturing processes classification and review, advanced materials and manufacturing technologies.
Teaching method : Lecture and tutorial.
Required prequisites : Basic materials science, manufacturing processes.

Remarks : This course is part of the International Design Semester (IDS).
Taking part in all exercises is compulsory.
In order to participate in the examination, the student must follow the course actively and be present in a minimum 80% of the lessons.
The student must deliver all mandatory tasks during the semester.
