Objective : To provide students with insight regarding the process of designing a product using visualizing and prototyping tools and to provide knowledge about the phases and elements of product development.

The aim is to work in the framework of specifications, concept development and, to a certain extent, final detailing, depending on the students skills, in order to create a case that is as close as possible to a real situation in the design-oriented industry.
Learning objectives:
A student who has fully met the objectives of the course will be able to:
• Follow an iterative design process
• Analyze and compare with existing products
• Work both independently and in a group
• Argue for a selected design solution
• By communicating with industrial designers and design students, the student’s awareness of design issues will be broadened.

Principal Content : The theoretical part may include choice of materials, appearance parameters, such as proportion, shape, color and texture, and other relevant demands which must be met when designing a product with a distinct identity.
In addition to the theoretical part and the project work, the program involves company visits and real-life cases so that the students will be acquainted with design processes.
