Objective : | English: Classes will be conducted in English, so that the students of various nationalities may experience an international work environment regardless of students’ nationality. Further, using English as a working language should benefit students in their professional life beyond the university. Danish: Students will, through practical oral exercises, familiarize themselves with every-day expressions. The Danish-speaking students will participate in these activities. We will focus on special problems such as pronunciation and diction peculiar to the Danish language. |

Principal Content : | English: Since the main focus of the course will be the spoken English, articles from periodicals, newspapers and other relevant sources will be used as a basis for class discussions. Active participation on the part of each student is therefore required. In order to consolidate class activities, some homework may be recommended. Students will be required to give a talk on a chosen subject before the class in order to train their ability to express themselves clearly and precisely in a communicative situation involving active listeners. These exercises serve to prepare the student for delivery of the oral presentation of their project at the end of the semester. While the emphasis will be placed on oral communication, special needs or problems related to thesis writing may be taken up, subject to consensus in class. To assist the students comply with the requirements set down for oral and written presentation of thesis, special attention will be given to activities that may strengthen such skills. Ad hoc topics and problems as suggested by students or instructor may be taken up as they are presented in class. Students who’s native language is English shall give a presentation about their country/region and their culture.
