Målsætning : | The aim of this course is to give the students insight in optical technologies within the field of optical communications. With any technology there are fundamentals that underpin the technology and are essential for understanding and applying it. These fundamentals are covered in this course. More specific the student will work with all fundamental components in an optical network i.e. Laser, modulator, amplifier, filter and fibre during the course. At the end of the course we will put these components together and see how a small optical system works. MATLAB and the optical toolbox LightPipe is used as simulation tool with the goal of supporting the learning process. |
