| Objective : | To give the student a valuable toolbox i Quality technics and an understanding of the organisational challenges in obtaining Quality in all functions and in joining the neverending journey of TQM. The student should optain an in depth knowledge in both Statistical and Total Quality Management disciplines to be able to solve quality problems and help implementing the Kaizen philosophy in the Manufacturing Department. Also the student should understand the need for Quality through all departments in the factory and the building Quality into the product during the whole process from product idea to delivery to customer and market feedback. | ||
| Principal Content : | Quality Control and Quality Management in Production, Engineering and Administrative departments. Understanding of the need for Senior Management commitment to TQM. Quality Technics e.g. QFD and Statistical Analysis, Quality Costs, Systems and Standards (the ISO 9000 series), Systematic Quality improvement, People Involvement. | ||
| Teaching method : | Lectures, group-discussions, reports, problemsolving, homework, if possible also a visit to a factory known for its high Quality. | ||

| Recommended prerequisites : | Knowledge of Basic Quality Control and Statistics e.g. corresponding to courses MAN3 and MAT3. | ||
